Hey Guys.
Did you all know, I participated in the Inter-House Dragonboat Race. It was held at Kallang River after school. Together with 11 other classmates, I made my way to the river. We had to walk on some very narrow path, which if you fall you land in the sea, then take a long stroll along the river to the arranged meeting place. After a breif safety talk, the races started. The first was the upper secondary 12-boat race, followed by the lower secondary 12-boat race, then the upper secondary 24-boat race and finally the lower secondary 24-boat race. I participated in both of the lower secondary races. Actually, dragonboating is not that hard. The only part you have to take note of is the co-ordination of the team. If the whole team paddles at their own pace, the whole boat would be moving at a caterpillar's pace. But if the team is syncronised well, you will speed throught the water. And that was the problem with the last race. Nobody was paddling at the same pace. Paddles were clashing throughout the race, causing the whole downfall of the boat. Ironically, these were the results of our house for all the races: 1st race = 1st, 2nd race = 2nd, 3rd race = 3rd and 4th race = 4th.
Overall, the whole event was very enjoyable and i hope to be able to participate in more of these school events.
